Coordinated by Lucky You Productions, this beautiful wedding took place at Graham Chapel on the Washington Univiersity Campus.  During the ceremony, each mother gave a touching speech to the couple. There wasn’t a dry eye in the Chapel!

The stunning (non-tradional) wedding dress is an original design and the flowers, by Wildflowers, were a perfect match.  Officiated by the Bride’s Brother, the ceremony included a mix of traditional and Jewish wedding customs.

Held in the fall, at the Chase Park Plaza, the wedding design featured hard and soft elements featuring wood and baby’s breath. A mix of square and round tables added diversity to the room.  Lenny Klinger’s Galaxy Band kept the dance floor full the entire night with the Hora being a highlight of the evening! Mazel tov to the happy couple!

PS: More images of the reception to come!

Pop! Goes the Color!

By Amanda Schoenbaum, Lucky You Intern
with assistance from Rachel McCalla, Weddings and Events Director

The tradition of a bride wearing all white is definitely changing. Adding a pop of color to the dress, shoes, makeup can be exciting, unique and make a statement.

Adding color to your dress can be done in a variety easy changeable ways. For example, adding a vibrant colored tulle under the dress will add a fun element to your pictures. Images by weddingelegancesd.com

Another popular way to add color is with a fabric sash or flowers.  More and more brides are staying traditional at the ceremony and then “jazzing” it up at the reception. This is a great way to add color and style without breaking the budget!

Picking shoes with a pop of color is an easy way to keep in the tradition of wearing a white dress. In today’s market, shoe color is limitless! However, most brides stick with their color scheme while others decide on blue shoes to represent their something blue.  Super cute!

Playing with makeup can be a beautiful and exciting way to add drama to their look. Make up artists we like are Amanda Willson, Michael Shed, Tami Scott, D’Shannon Llewellyn.  Please see our vendor page for more info.

Adding color to the veil will accent your hair and face with color with committing to ultra-vibrant make-up (which isn’t for everyone).  Perfect for your entrance at the reception!  Image by WantThatWedding.com.

With brides looking for ways to personalize their weddings, adding pops of color is an easy, effortless way to incorporate your style!

All About Glitter!

By Sherice Fleming
Intern at Lucky You Productions

Adding glitter to your decorations is a great way to take a traditional wedding to a modern one. Glitter can be included in your scheme by using glitter linens, dipping feathers in glitter or even taking mason jars and covering them in glitter to add a romantic feel.

http://designindulgences.com

Glitter linens can be incorporated in various ways. They can be placed on all of the tables, creating a luxurious feel to your reception. If you feel like it would be overkill to have all of your wedding tables covered in glitter, try using the glitter linen on the head table and use plain linens on the others.

Another great way to use glitter linens is using glitter chair covers. The chair covers add a subtle hint of glitz, but allow you to incorporate your wedding colors on the table cloths.

A beautiful, but more subtle way to add glitter into your wedding is dipping various decorations in glitter, for instance, feathers. Dipping feathers in glitter is a fun way to incorporate the two trends of feathers and glitter into your reception. These can be added in with the flowers on the tables or maybe even just in the bride’s headpiece. Either way the little hints of glitter will glam up your wedding.

Mason jars themselves add a soft and romantic feel to any wedding reception, but dipping half in glitter also makes it glamorous. Mason jars are so inexpensive and it is an easy do it yourself project to incorporate glitter!

Wedding Trends: Ombre

By Sherice Fleming
Intern at Lucky You Productions

Ombre, described as “gradually intensifying shades of the same color”, has become a huge trend for weddings. We see it everywhere from bridesmaids dresses, to cakes, and even flowers.

belleeventsblog.com

Using ombre for your bridesmaids dresses allows for your girls to show a little individuality, but keeps their dresses from being distracting. As you can see in this photo, the girls chose to vary their shades of salmon from a very light hue, to a little bit darker one.

barnweddingblog.com

Another unique way to use ombre is in your wedding cake. This may sound kind of crazy, but the outcome is stunning! There is a variety of ways to ombre your wedding cake—you could remain subtle and ombre the filling of your cake so that your guests only see it when the cake has been cut, or you could choose to be a little more bold and vary the shades of your frosting from light to dark or vice versa. If you are feeling inspired by ombre, you could even ombre the icing AND the filling as this bride did on her cake.

mazelmoments.com

Using a variety of shades for your wedding flowers is a gorgeous way to incorporate ombre into your wedding day. We have seen this done in a couple of different ways, from a runner down to aisle, to table toppers and also in the bride’s bouquet.
So if you are looking for a great way to use ombre in your wedding, look no further! These three options add a spice of individuality while giving your wedding a very modern spin.

Kudos from a Happy Couple!

Rachel and Amanda,

How do we begin to thank you?! The whole wedding process is overwhelming but from the moment we found you ladies it seemed manageable. You were always helpful and professional even with our constantly changing plans and ideas. Thank you.

Rachel-You coordinated the best day of our life! We are both anal organizers used to being in control and running productions, but the day of, all of our trust was in you… And you pulled it off with flying colors! Truly Fabulous!

Amanda- The floral elements were out of this world. You transformed M’s idea board into a reality. You took ever nit picky suggestion we had to heart and really delivered. The Boutonnières were to die for and the cocktail tables were the coolest things we’ve seen, not to mention gorgeous centerpieces! Beautiful!

Your company’s name is true and we were lucky to have you ladies. Immense thanks.

Photobooths

By Ashley Norman
Intern at Lucky You Productions

Capturing candid moments of your reception guests can provide a fun and intimate view of the evening, but your photographer can’t be everywhere at once. There are a lot of options when it comes to adding a fun photo feature to your event, so we’ve rounded up some of the top ideas for you here.

Photobooth—One of the hottest options right now is a photo booth where guests can line up and put on some funny hats. Many services offer instant printing and a commemorative photo book. To see who our favorite photo booth vendors are, please visit our preferred vendors page!

Cost: $900-$1,600

Pros: Physical photos, fun party favors

Cons: Pulls guests away from the dance floor, long lines

Disposable Cameras—Yes it is a throwback to the 1990s, but disposable cameras are a very cost-effective option for capturing some great candid shots. But keep in mind, kids may need a tutorial on how to use them, given they’ve grown up with digital.

Cost: $10/camera + $5/developing

Pros: Cost-effective

Cons: Need to develop film, easily misplaced

Photography by Craig Mitchelldyer

Mosaic Photo System—The digital equivalent of handing out disposable cameras, Mosaic lets your guests instantly stream photos from their smartphones to a projector at your event. For more information visit www.MosaicPhotoSystem.com.

Cost: $250

Pros: Instant gratification, an interactive piece of art, you get to keep everyone’s photos

Cons: Guests without smartphones might feel left out.
